6 smoking cessation aids, professional education counseling and support through the "Second Generation Smoking Cessation Payment Scheme" in hospitals, clinics and community pharmacies, which achieved a smoking cessation success rate of 26.4%. To improve the accessibility of smoking cessation services, the HPA provides "Free Smoking Quitline Service" for the public with multiple telephone counseling, which combines convenience and privacy with professional consultation and psychological support, and supported more than 40% nicotine addicted adults to successfully quit smoking. In addition to the existing smoking cessation services and smoking quitline services, the county and city health bureaus also combine resources from inter-departmental units, such as education and healthcare institutions and the community, to organize diversified education and training seminars or activities related to tobacco hazards prevention, achieve a"non-smoking" environment together with people who are keen to quit smoking, and bring health to all the people in Taiwan. Successful Tobacco Hazards Prevention in the Past Decade; Pushing Efforts for the Next Decade In recent years, the rapid growth of emerging tobacco products has become a major issue for Taiwan's tobacco hazards prevention in the future. The HPA will continue to promote the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act, increase tobacco price, expand graphic warning size and increase measures such as smoking restrictions in indoor public spaces, enhance e-cigarette control, and prohibition of flavored tobacco, in order to safeguard the people's health in Taiwan and help achieve society's interests. The HPA will also actively promote a "smoke-free workplace" which combines corporate power and extend the availability of smoking cessation services to the workplace, so that "smoking cessation" can get accessible to smokers' everyday life, and people who are keen to quit smoking will no longer be tempted on smoking relapse in the workplace. Health is the most valuable asset in life. Children and youth should learn to be their own masters and bravely refuse tobacco, and people in Taiwan should avoid smoking hazards to improve their health, while smokers should quit smoking as soon as possible to protect their own health as well as the health of their families and friends. The HPA hope that everyone will work together on the prevention of tobacco hazards and mutually cooperate towards the next decade of tobacco prevention.
