In addition to the abovementioned changes, there is no better way to establish Taiwan’s reputation than holding international competitions. Consequently, we’ve collaborated with local governments, Tourism Bureau and Minister of Foreign Affairs to launch nearly 130 international competitions, leading to a trend toward exercise and sightseeing, and meanwhile showing Taiwan’s soft power from the sports industry. We’ll keep sharpening our management skills in international competitions, letting Taiwan shine on the world stage.
Apart from that, Taiwan’s athletes have also delivered outstanding performance in international competitions such as Taipei 2017 Universiade and Asian Games in Jakarta – Palembang. They not only made Taiwanese proud but became the focus throughout the world. After our team won the second best in history during 2018 Asian Games, we and the National Sports Training Center have intensified our effort to nurture our athletes’ professional skills and offered comprehensive support, hoping our athletes are fully prepared to fight in 2020 Summer Olympics, push for breakthroughs, and earn the top honor for Taiwan and themselves.
