42 2019 Taiwan Futures Exchange TAIFEX also continued to publish TAIFEX Bimonthly and the Journal of Futures and Options, distributing them to the futures industry and institutions of higher learning to promote greater understanding of futures and encourage academic research. The Journal of Futures and Options has been particularly successful in the academic arena. Included in the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences' Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI) for seven years' running, the journal has become a major medium for the publication of futures-related research, and a forum for communication between industry and academia. In the area of education, TAIFEX's efforts targeted the general public, college and university students, and futures professionals. Our initiatives included regularly offering free courses on futures and options throughout Taiwan that were attended by a total of nearly 2,700 people in 2019. We also broadened college and university students' understanding of futures and options, and strengthened exchanges between industry, government and academia by working with the media to arrange campus talks on careers in the futures industry, and a forum on futures theory and practice. And we continued to foster the professional development of futures-industry personnel, including asset managers and employees of institutional investors, with a variety of courses, as well as monthly classes at our E-Learning Center. In addition, TAIFEX encouraged the public to participate in online learning and virtual trading via our educational website and virtual exchange. We also attended the FinTech Taipei 2019 conference, where we operated a pavilion with "virtual trading" as its theme. This pavilion highlighted our market's integration of finance and technology, teaching visitors about quotes, the order process, and margin management by giving them opportunities to trade a variety of futures products in a virtual environment.
